About The Position

Industrial Cleaners are responsible to work with minimal supervision, to ensure that the site is properly cleaned and sanitized on an ongoing basis, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, food safety regulations and Federal and State safety mandates. Industrial Cleaners will be required to efficiently operate different types of industrial equipment, in the appropriate areas and will need to understand the uses and hazards of various cleaning products.

Requirements

  • Previous cleaning/sanitation experience utilizing chemicals is preferred
  • Computer skills, math, written and oral communication skills
  • Work in a team setting to complete desired tasks.
  • Follow all SQF & GMP quality system guidelines & safety practices.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50lbs and work in any condition, indoors or outdoors.
  • Maintain a valid fork truck and aerial lift license
  • Work any shift and weekend overtime as required.
  • Able to climb stairs, ladders, use catwalks, bend and lift throughout the day.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to reach with hands and arms in sometimes awkward places.
  • Physically able to frequently stand, stoop, climb, balance, crouch, kneel, and crawl.
  • Able to run vacuums and use mops, squeegees, brooms and brushes.
  • Ability to work in an environment with exposure to wet and/or humid and hot and/or cold conditions, airborne particles, and cleaning chemicals.
  • Find, read, and understand SDS sheets
  • Must be able to work safely in high places and near moving mechanical parts.
  • May need to attend periodic training classes to improve skills.
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

  • Operate custodial tools and equipment, safely and efficiently, to maintain the condition of the facility.
  • Safely complete painting tasks as needed.
  • Identify proper attachments and their usage for all cleaning applications.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers.
  • Work independently to complete daily activities according to work schedules with minimal supervision.
  • Understand and follow written/oral instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Record all tasks completed on a daily cleaning journal.
  • Understand and follow GMP/SQF guidelines.
  • Inspect and maintain custodial equipment and tools for proper operating conditions.
  • Identify and report equipment, food safety/sanitation and customer issues that need to be addressed.
