About The Position

This role leads the process of connecting with and serving new and expanding customers. The position involves gathering information on natural gas equipment and requirements, facilitating engineering reviews of system capacity and infrastructure costs, preparing economic feasibility and rate reviews, identifying service options, negotiating and executing large volume service agreements, and serving as a liaison during construction. The role also focuses on developing and maintaining strong business relationships with industrial, large commercial, and LDC customers, acting as the primary company contact for customer needs, building relationships with economic development agencies to recruit new prospects, overseeing contract administration, reviewing and approving customer invoices, analyzing competitive bypass options, utilizing knowledge of upstream pipeline supply, developing business development programs, and supporting the annual industrial margin budget and rate case filings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering or a related field and six years related experience; or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers/stakeholders to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or modifications on technical, environmental or other complex concepts to individuals with little or no background in the area under discussion and proactively advocate for continued/increased usage of natural gas.
  • Ability to perform analysis involving financial investments, ratios, percentages and statistical methods.
  • Working knowledge of various software applications to create documents, spreadsheets, financial analysis, reports and/or graphics.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the process to connect and serve new/expanding customers, including gathering equipment information, facilitating engineering reviews, preparing economic feasibility and rate reviews, identifying service options, negotiating and executing agreements, and serving as liaison during construction.
  • Develops and maintains strong business relationships with industrial, large commercial, and LDC customers, regularly communicating with high profile stakeholders, and maintaining knowledge of industry trends and gas technologies.
  • Acts as the primary Company contact to assure customer needs are met, including billing, tariffs, measurement, contract administration, service issues, environmental sustainability, and changes in gas delivery needs.
  • Builds relationships with local, regional, and state economic development agencies to recruit new large volume prospects, serving as the primary contact for site visits and meetings, and preparing and delivering professional presentations.
  • Oversees contract administration of assigned accounts, ensuring terms of service are met, and communicating with customers and their agents during curtailment periods.
  • Reviews and approves large volume customer invoices monthly and is responsible for initial efforts to verify and collect on overdue accounts.
  • Independently identifies and analyzes competitive bypass options and leads negotiations for approved competitive response options.
  • Utilizes advanced knowledge of upstream pipeline supply and capacity conditions to make complex decisions affecting transportation customers.
  • Develops and leads the company's business development programs to maximize customer retention, stakeholder engagement, and market share growth, promoting company programs and advocating for natural gas usage.
  • Prepares or supports the annual industrial margin budget and confirms customer consumption projections to assist in rate case filings.
