About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Automation Programmer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in programming various processes using Allen Bradley hardware and software, as well as creating and programming Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs). This role involves designing and implementing automated solutions to enhance system efficiency, reliability, and safety, requiring collaboration with process engineers.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in Automation (post education completion).
  • Strong background in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley RSLogix/Studio 5000), HMI/SCADA development, and industrial control systems.
  • Proficiency in electrical schematics, control panel design, and circuit troubleshooting using AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN.
  • Demonstrated experience with Rockwell and Allen Bradley products.
  • Experience with Wonderware HMI/SCADA/IIM suite of products.
  • Strong knowledge of P&IDs and electrical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Siemens and Schneider considered an asset.
  • Experience with safety control systems and implementation design is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in industrial automation.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Available for trips lasting several weeks across Canada and the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Program and configure industrial automation processes using Allen Bradley hardware and software.
  • Develop and program HMIs to interface with automation systems.
  • Utilize Rockwell and Allen Bradley products, including RSLogix 5, 500, and 5000, SLC5, MicroLogix, CompactLogix, ControlLogix, RSView32, and the FactoryTalk suite.
  • Work with Wonderware HMI/SCADA/IIM suite of products.
  • Design and implement automated solutions that improve system efficiency, reliability, and safety.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and electrical drawings.
  • Design and implement safety control systems and products.
  • Configure VFD drives and networks.
  • Work with ASi interfaces, I/O Link and similar interfaces.
  • Collaborate with process engineers to automate processes (60-70% of the job).
