Some team members may specialize in one role, while others who hold current lifeguard certifications may have the opportunity to teach swim lessons and provide lifeguard coverage as needed. Emler Swim and Gymnastic Schools expand across 12 states and over 60 locations, continuing to grow and provide memorable experience for families nationwide. The position will remain open for up to 30 days from the posting date or until it is filled, whichever comes first. Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old (for Swim Instructor)
- Must be at least 15 years old (for Lifeguard)
- Current Lifeguard, CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications (Red Cross or equivalent) (for Lifeguard)
- Strong swimming and rescue skills (for Lifeguard)
- Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergencies (for Lifeguard)
- Love working with kids and bringing positive energy
- Reliable, safety-minded and professional
- Comfortable in the water and active on your feet
Nice To Haves
- Previous teaching or swim experience a plus (paid training provided)
Responsibilities
- Train with an experienced mentor to learn our proven swim instruction methods
- Teach weekly lessons for children ages 6 months -12 years
- Celebrate student milestones and build confidence
- Create positive, trusting relationships with students and parents
- Keep safety a top priority for everyone in and around the pool
- Stay active and engaged in this on-your-feet, in the water role
- Monitor pool activities to maintain a safe environment
- Enforce pool rules and respond quickly to emergencies
- Perform rescues and administer CPR/AED/First Aid when necessary
- Conduct safety checks and report hazards
- Maintain focused attention to reduce risks
- Support special events and weekend pool parties
