About The Position
Under supervision, the Indoor Recreation Specialist I provides leadership and functional supervision to recreation and volunteer participants. Works primarily indoors at the Spenard Recreation Center, leading and organizing daily program and facility activities and performs related work as required. Provides excellent customer service in-person, via telephone and e-mail. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Three (3) months experience leading, directing, supervising, coaching, or teaching children and/or adults at a recreation facility, a childcare facility, a childcare program, camps, educational institutions, therapeutic recreational programs, team, organized youth programs, or other similar programs.
- American Red Cross First Aid and American Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification or equivalent within 30 days of hire.
- Satisfactory completion of a national criminal background investigation (AS 12.62.160 and AS 12.62.400).
