Gemma ServicesPlymouth Meeting, PA

About The Position

At Martin Luther School, we believe every student deserves access to an excellent education, even if their path has included challenge, disruption, or trauma. Our students are bright and capable. What many of them have needed is a school that understands how learning and emotional development are connected. At MLS, strong instruction and social-emotional support are part of the same commitment to helping students succeed. Our classrooms are supported by a collaborative team that includes teachers, social workers, behavior specialists, and clinical leaders. We work together to understand students, problem-solve challenges, and create environments where students feel safe enough to take academic risks. Under the guidance of the Supervisor of Special Education, the IEP Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the development and management of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). This role includes coordinating efforts within the school and across departments/divisions, ensuring adherence to established operational policies and procedures, facilitating effective communication with relevant stakeholders, responding to information requests, maintaining accurate records, and generating required reports. In addition, the IEP Coordinator provides critical support to new teachers and designated staff by offering training and development aligned with special education best practices. This includes mentoring, delivering direct instruction, and providing professional development opportunities aimed at enhancing student learning. The goal is to promote students’ social, emotional, and academic growth within the framework of a special education environment.
