About The Position

Our In-Home Support Specialists are committed to facilitate, model, and build skills that will lead to the optimal independence of the people we support. This role involves assisting individuals with daily activities such as meal preparation and planning, personal care, facilitating community involvement, providing transportation, and supporting therapeutic and behavioral plans. The position requires a positive work ethic, the ability to work with limited supervision, and a commitment to advocating for and protecting participants' rights with respect and dignity.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with people who have developmental and physical disabilities preferred.
• Ability to mentor and assist people in all areas of life skills including recreation, independence, communication, and health.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic computer aptitude.
• Ability to speak/write in English.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate, model, and build skills for optimal independence.

• Serve as a positive and appropriate role model.
• Provide advocacy for participants based on their personal choice and individual plan.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with participants, their families, and providers.
• Respond to the needs of participants, families, and providers in a timely and professional manner.
