Individual Giving Officer

Camp Harbor ViewBoston, MA
$130,000 - $150,000Hybrid

About The Position

Camp Harbor View's work is focused on providing opportunities to some of Boston's most historically marginalized communities. We believe that by working with the families in our program we will progress in overcoming many of the barriers of systemic inequity and advancing educational and economic parity. We strive to build a staff and board that is reflective of the communities that we serve. The Individual Giving Officer is a key member of the External Relations team, responsible for growing and strengthening Camp Harbor View’s individual donor base. In the first year, the role will focus on two core priorities: deepening engagement with current and lapsed donors in our Salesforce database and proactively building relationships with new individual prospects in the Greater Boston area. We have the data and the stakeholders; we need an ambitious front-line fundraiser who can build authentic relationships, increase donor engagement and giving, and confidently open doors to new networks, contributing meaningfully to the team’s annual revenue goal.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional development or fundraising experience, with a proven track record of directly soliciting and closing individual gifts.
  • Advanced proficiency in using Salesforce as a strategic asset to manage a pipeline, prioritize outreach, and drive decision-making.
  • Deep familiarity with the Greater Boston philanthropic landscape and total comfort navigating diverse professional and leadership networks across the city.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and writing skills. Ability to speak and write authentically and directly about the mission without relying on industry jargon, with comfort engaging high-net-worth individuals and corporate leaders alike.
  • An ambitious, self-starting, and self-motivated mindset with the desire to meet and exceed defined revenue targets in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • We value direct, grounded, and collaborative professionals who operate with high emotional intelligence.
  • We are looking for an authentic teammate who is deeply passionate about our mission, prefers genuine relationships over transactional fundraising, and is ready to take full ownership and grow alongside our individual giving program.

Responsibilities

  • Pipeline Mining: Systematically analyze and mine Salesforce data to identify mid-level and lapsed donors with untapped capacity, affinity, and high potential.
  • Moves Management: Manage a personal portfolio of approximately 125–150 qualified individual prospects through the full lifecycle of identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Personalized Engagement: Design and execute bespoke cultivation and retention plans that move donors toward increased annual investment, deeper loyalty, and multi-year commitments.
  • Prospect Acquisition: Proactively identify and qualify new individual prospects through targeted research, community networking, market research, and board referrals.
  • External Representation: Act as a key ambassador for the organization at Boston-based events and networking opportunities to actively build a pipeline of new supporters.
  • Strategic Solicitation: Develop and implement strategies to convert one-time event attendees or volunteers into consistent individual donors, confidently executing direct asks to secure commitments.
  • CRM Optimization: Maintain meticulous, actionable records in Salesforce, ensuring all donor interactions, wealth screenings, and gift projections are accurate and up to date.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner closely with the Development Operations and Communications teams to ensure appeals, data tracking, and donor touchpoints are seamless, data-driven, and strategic.
  • Reporting: Track and report on key performance metrics, including donor retention rates, pipeline movement, gift increases, and progress toward quarterly and annual revenue goals.
