About The Position

The Individual Giving Coordinator supports Fountain House's individual donor program, playing a key role in advancing fundraising efforts across the donor pipeline — from direct response and mid-level giving to major and planned gifts. This role provides critical support to frontline fundraisers through stewardship, communications, and the coordination of fundraising initiatives. Coordinating cross-functional projects with development staff, program staff, and members to strengthen donor relationships, improve retention, and increase revenue from individual giving.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years’ work experience in non-profit fundraising.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office Suite Salesforce, Adobe CS and Classy)
  • An interest in mental health issues and passion for alleviating the associated stigma.
  • Demonstrate empathy and strong listening skills when engaging donors, partners, staff and members
  • Multitasking and flexibility is a core skill, you are not overwhelmed with simultaneous projects

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute donor stewardship activities, including acknowledgments, recognition, and personalized outreach, ensuring materials such as acknowledgment letters are refreshed regularly
  • Support frontline fundraisers in cultivating and retaining individual donors through targeted written communications and engagement strategies, including regular touchpoints for portfolio donors (e.g., newsletters, quality-of-life reports, and personalized messaging from leadership)
  • Support the Individual Giving team in creating email campaigns, newsletters, and hard-copy mailings, including bespoke and individualized solicitations
  • Assist in managing donor cultivation events and recognition programs, including planning events throughout the year, hosting gatherings for members, producing member correspondence, and supporting outreach to prospective planned giving donors
  • Serve as the primary point person for the Council, working closely with senior leadership to manage logistics and operations, including developing discussion topics and agendas, organizing meetings, recruiting new members, and providing onsite and virtual meeting support
  • Generate donor-facing materials as needed, including proposals, presentation decks, letters, and mail merges
  • Support scholarship management by gathering required materials throughout the year
  • Support the Gallery Advisory Committee by assisting the Senior Director of Individual Giving and Gallery Director at bi-monthly meetings and distribute related Gallery/Studio information
  • Oversee the planning and execution of direct response and planned giving campaigns across mail and digital channels, in consultation with the Senior Director of Individual Giving
  • Coordinate and project manage timelines, materials, and logistics for Individual Giving programs, including direct response, cultivation and stewardship for portfolio/major donors, and planned giving marketing
  • Maintain accurate donor records in the CRM/database
  • Record donor call reports and generate reports from Salesforce as requested
  • Oversee the Individual Giving department calendar, project managing tasks across written communications, events, calls, and meetings
  • Support gift processing, acknowledgments, and receipting, including sending portfolio acknowledgment letters
  • Assist with donor cultivation events, including logistics, invitations, and follow-up
  • Prepare materials such as leave-behinds, briefing documents, reports, and proposals
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure consistent messaging
  • Oversee the Fountain House Marathon team, including recruiting runners, advocating for additional race bibs, coordinating fundraising plans, motivating and stewarding participants, coordinating with Communications on race-day support, and organizing runner swag
  • Manage the Give inbox and Development phone line, responding to inbound donor inquiries and support requests
  • Pull, review, and update relationship lists for event invitations and contact information
