About The Position

The Manager of Individual & Corporate Giving plays a critical role in supporting the philanthropic development of Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD). This frontline fundraiser will work closely with a dedicated team to grow a relationship-focused, mid-level giving program that bridges annual giving and major gift philanthropy. Reporting to the Director of Major Gifts, this role will focus on donors–individual, corporate, and alumni–whose giving ranges from $2K-$25K. This role is responsible for overseeing a dynamic portfolio, which will include identification, qualification, and cultivation of potential donors as well as soliciting and stewarding gifts. A key metric of success will be pairing donors with opportunities to increase their giving, with the ultimate goal of identifying, engaging, and retaining emerging major donors for the institution. This role is ideal for an energetic fundraiser with strong people, organization, and project management skills to work in a supportive team environment. The position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the mission of CCAD by building meaningful relationships and inviting donors to empower students, faculty, and the local creative community. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of two years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related field with demonstrated success in customer or donor relations required; direct experience with fundraising preferred; development work within higher education or the arts preferred
  • Demonstrated success in making "cold calls" and securing new donors
  • Experience with donor/customer relationship management software strongly desired; Raiser's Edge preferred
  • Proficiency with administrative software programs required; Google Suite preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and successful experience in helping an organization meet its DEI goals
  • Availability for occasional evening/weekend events and travel by car and air
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for donor related travel (expenses reimbursed)

Responsibilities

  • Manage a dynamic portfolio of approximately 100-175 donors and prospects, aligning donor interest with institutional priorities.
  • Conduct broad-based outreach to mid-tier donors, identify opportunities to deepen engagement and giving, and hold gift conversations typically in the $2,000–$25,000 range based on donor interest and capacity.
  • Actively research prospective, new, and consistent donors to understand giving interests and motivation.
  • Develop and execute cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans for different giving tiers (in alignment with the department's strategic plans and guidelines).
  • Manage and execute broad donor communications for the team such as targeted appeals and a regular donor newsletter.
  • Partner with the Alumni and Annual Giving Coordinator to qualify and move annual and prospective donors through the giving pipeline.
  • Play an active fundraising and engagement role in campus-wide events and initiatives.
  • Participate in donor stewardship and engagement events then follow up with attendees.
  • Manage entry-level corporate/foundation grants and sponsorships (25K and under), as well as in-kind donations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of donor interactions using Raiser's Edge donor management database.
  • Draft documents including grants, proposals, agreements, and donor correspondence.
  • Provide additional fundraising support, including select involvement in major gift cultivation activities and alumni or campaign-based fundraising initiatives.
  • Represent CCAD at internal and external events; attend targeted events to network with donors, prospects, and community partners; this may require out of state travel as necessary.
