Individual Assistance Housing Coordinator
About The Position
This is a professional position that involves analytical work with the Division of Emergency Management for Individual Assistance Recovery Program. The selected candidate will be required to work on research and technical writing, to support grant management, training and writing program guidance. If selected, the employee will work directly with partner federal, state and local governments and non-traditional organizations in developing planning guidance. The position is responsible for intake with survivors to identify unmet needs and link survivors to available resources as well as provide ongoing review of disaster recovery plan. The selected candidate will work under the administrative and technical supervision of a section manager or Assistant Director. If selected, the candidate is expected to work independently ensuring projects are complete within established objectives/deadlines, provide weekly activity reports, and complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of progressively responsible emergency management, emergency services, or other professional experience directly related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in coordinating intake with disaster survivors to identify unmet needs and referral to available resources.
- Experience developing and maintaining housing resources.
- Experience in research and technical writing relates to grants and/or housing resources.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and/or local governments housing programs.
- Experience with at least one of the following: Creating written program guidance, developing training, preparing activity reports.
