The job of an Individual Aide/ Paraprofessional is to provide support to the instructional program with specific responsibility in assisting in the supervision, care, and instruction of students with special needs; assisting in implementing plans for instruction; monitoring student behavior; and providing information to appropriate school personnel. This role involves adapting classroom activities, assignments, and/or materials to support instructional objectives and meet IEP goals, implementing behavior management systems, and assisting with student supervision, including feeding, lifting, and toileting. The Individual Aide will also maintain confidentiality of student information, chart student progress, and communicate effectively with students, colleagues, instructional staff, and healthcare professionals.
