About The Position

The Indirect Buyer manages the procurement of goods and services that support daily operations but are not part of the final product delivered to customers. This role partners closely with internal teams, evaluates and selects suppliers, negotiates commercial terms, and ensures cost-effective purchasing across multiple indirect spend categories. The position plays a key role in optimizing indirect spend, driving savings, and supporting continuous improvement within the procurement function.

Requirements

  • Experience in indirect procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or purchasing.
  • Proven knowledge of indirect spend categories such as MRO, facilities, IT, or services.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable commercial terms and service levels.
  • Demonstrated supplier management capabilities, including performance monitoring and relationship management.
  • Ability to analyze spend data, understand cost drivers, and develop insights that support savings initiatives.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and procurement workflows.
  • Core competencies in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, negotiation, indirect sourcing, indirect purchasing, and indirect procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage indirect spend categories such as facilities, IT services, MRO, tooling, logistics, professional services, and corporate operations.
  • Conduct supplier sourcing activities including market research, supplier identification, supplier evaluation, and competitive bidding.
  • Plan and execute RFQs and RFPs to compare pricing, service levels, and supplier capabilities across relevant categories.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, service level agreements, and commercial terms to ensure favorable outcomes and long-term value.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, project management, finance, and legal teams to understand requirements and support internal stakeholders.
  • Manage supplier performance by tracking key metrics, resolving issues, and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships.
  • Monitor category and supplier spend, analyze cost drivers, and identify savings opportunities to support cost reduction initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contract terms, and ERP-based purchasing processes across all indirect categories.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts within the procurement function by refining processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date supplier records, pricing information, and contract documentation within relevant systems.
