TC Energy is seeking an experienced Indigenous Relations (IR) Engagement Lead to join their team in the Fort McMurray and north central Alberta (AB) area. This role will lead engagement with Indigenous groups, support internal coordination, documentation, and reporting processes for effective Indigenous Relations. The position involves establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with Indigenous communities in the Fort McMurray area, ensuring engagement activities are well-documented, organized, and aligned with regulatory and company requirements. The role requires balancing external engagement with internal coordination, collaborating across business units and with leadership, tracking engagement activities, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to internal reporting and briefing materials. Effective Indigenous participation and engagement are core to TC Energy’s approach to Indigenous Relations. This role plays a key part in delivering IR strategies through relationship-building and the systems and processes that support it. This will require travel to remote locations across Fort McMurray and north central Alberta, along with strong attention to detail in managing documentation and administrative workflows. Success in this role requires a solid understanding of the governance, cultural, and historical context of Indigenous communities in the region, including Métis communities and organizations, combined with the ability to maintain organized, accurate, and defensible records that support engagement outcomes.
