The Indigenous Lead serves as a trusted advisor and relationship builder, fostering understanding and respectful relationships between Indigenous communities and Calgary Foothills PCN. Grounded in an understanding of Indigenous cultures, ways of knowing and approaches to health and wellness, this role works collaboratively with leaders and staff to advance cultural humility, support health equity initiatives and promote greater awareness of Indigenous perspectives. Through partnership, education and collaboration, the Indigenous Lead supports organizational learning and contributes to creating welcoming, culturally responsive experiences for Indigenous patients, families and communities. Success in this role will be demonstrated through the ability to influence and support meaningful organizational change that enhances care experiences and strengthens community partnerships. This includes advancing initiatives that promote cultural humility, supporting the implementation of Truth and Reconciliation commitments within PCN and fostering stronger connections between Indigenous communities, clinicians and the broader primary care system.
