The Indiana Volunteer & Engagement Specialist will be responsible for maintaining existing and creating new state-wide volunteer initiatives and supports all business unit functions and conservation priorities. They will help raise the organization’s profile through select and strategic venues and partnerships, may serve as “brand ambassador” for the Conservancy’s mission, and inspires people to want to learn more and engage with the organization in meaningful ways. The Specialist is responsible for supporting, expanding, and evaluating the existing state-wide volunteer program, including volunteer efforts with our land management team. They will work closely with staff across the state to recruit, engage, train, coordinate, and recognize volunteers, while providing guidance, tools, and program support that enable staff to successfully lead volunteer activities in their own regions. The Specialist is also responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of a strategic community engagement program, including directing volunteers to complete some land management responsibilities in the greater Indianapolis area. This role strengthens the Conservancy’s visibility and impact through strategic partnerships, volunteer engagement opportunities, and public outreach efforts, while serving as an ambassador for the organization’s mission and inspiring meaningful connections with people and nature.
