About The Position

The Corporate Volunteer Engagement Specialist will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of Food Bank’s volunteer and service programs. This position is responsible for assisting with outreach, event planning, and relationship management for corporate volunteer partners. The position requires a high level of professionalism, strong communication skills including public speaking and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of volunteer management experience and/or nonprofit development or fundraising in corporate relations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including networking and public speaking.
  • Ability to partner and communicate effectively with diverse constituents.
  • Communicates accurately, honestly, supportively and in a timely manner with external stakeholders and department and interdepartmental team members.
  • Superb organizational skills.
  • Self-started who is proactive.
  • Ability to multitask and meet concurrent needs and deadlines.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.) and Google Suite (i.e. Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct one’s self in a calm and professional demeanor when dealing with the public and/or with difficult situations.
  • Desire to be accountable to individual and team goals, inclusive of donor, dollar, and event goals.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on corporate partners, including occasional Saturdays.
  • Highest level of personal and ethical standard with the ability to represent the organization professionally and responsibly.
  • Regularly required to walk, sit, stand, bend and occasionally lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Flexibility to commute between Food Bank facilities as needed is essential as well as commuting to Mobile Food Pantry locations as necessary.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, trains, orients, and supervises volunteers at on-site events across both volunteer facilities.
  • Provide consistent, excellent customer service to motivate volunteers to continue engaging with the Food Bank by ensuring that they have a positive experience.
  • Conduct outreach to existing and prospective corporate partners to develop and strengthen volunteer partnerships (including cold calling).
  • Assist with the coordination and execution of corporate volunteer events, including logistical planning, event setup and breakdown, and onsite support.
  • Assist with volunteer related events, including Volunteer Appreciation activities, Food From The Bar campaigns, and Hunger Action Month initiatives.
  • Conduct in-person and virtual tours for corporate volunteer initiatives.
  • Identifies challenges and leads process improvement to enhance the volunteer experience.
  • Create event registration links and share relevant event details, including run of show documents.
  • Ensure volunteer safety and positive experience throughout all events.
  • Prepare appreciation packets and items for first time corporate event organizers.
  • Capture candid and group photos during volunteer events to be used for appreciation slides or digital displays.
  • Create or assist with the creation of multi-media content designed to attract and engage volunteer recognition such as photos/video.
  • Support the Volunteer Department with general tasks, including volunteer check-ins and administrative assistance.
  • Cultivate and Steward relationships with corporate volunteer groups.
  • Develop and collaborate with Corporate Volunteer Engagement Manager and Data Manager on email outreach communications to past, current and prospective volunteer groups.
  • Respond to volunteer inquiries and coordinate customized volunteer experiences.
  • Maintain and update key corporate contact information to ensure alignment with the current volunteer schedule.
  • Send post-event thank you emails and impact reports, including event photos, to recognize and steward corporate groups.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
