About The Position

The role of the Program Specialist working in the Independent Living Services (ILS) department is to guide people to greater independence in their homes and community through practical training and mentorship. You will work with adults one-on-one who have set goals to achieve, specializing your coaching and training to their individual needs.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to pass a background check through the Department of Justice (DOJ).
  • Ability to pass a driving record check.
  • Safe and reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
  • TB (Tuberculosis) Skin Test.

Responsibilities

  • Guide people to greater independence in their homes and community through practical training and mentorship.
  • Work with adults one-on-one who have set goals to achieve.
  • Specialize coaching and training to individual needs.
  • Provide coaching in areas such as money management, outdoor activities, community/social confidence, cooking skills, cleaning/basic home maintenance, self-advocating skills, healthcare/first aid/medication pick up, personal safety/mobility skills, and any additional personalized goals.
