The Independent Living Manager oversees the daily operations of residential programs, ensuring individuals’ service needs are met and programs operate efficiently. This role supervises Direct Support Professionals and Assistant Managers, coordinates staffing and schedules, ensures compliance with agency and state standards, and collaborates with leadership to maintain high-quality services.   • Will meet and maintain the required certifications to become a medication technician.

Nice To Haves

  • Willingness to obtain DD certification within 18 months and Medication Technician certification.
  • High School diploma or General Education Development diploma (GED) preferred.
  • Prefer two years of experience in the field of disabilities and preference is given to those with additional experience and/or a four year degree in a related human services field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of Direct Support Professionals and Assistant Managers.
  • Ensure individualized program needs are met through active participation in ISP/IEP meetings.
  • Create and manage staff schedules, provide coverage when needed, and communicate changes promptly.
  • Hire, train, coach, and evaluate staff; foster a positive, supportive team culture.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, data tracking, financial records, and timely reports.
  • Maintain safe, well-supplied, and welcoming homes and agency vehicles.
  • Ensure compliance with agency policies, confidentiality standards, and state licensure requirements.
  • Participate in on-call rotation, staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development.
  • If applicable, carry out delegated nursing interventions and medication administration requirements.
