About The Position

Blue Livin’ Supports is committed to enhancing the quality of life for adults with developmental disabilities by delivering individualized training, education, and habilitation services. We are seeking dedicated, professional Independent Living Coaches to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about teaching, community integration, and empowering others to develop lifelong skills. As an Independent Living Coach, you will provide structured, one-on-one instruction in three primary domains: 1. In‑Home Habilitation & Daily Living Skills Meal preparation and nutrition Medication reminders and wellness habits Personal organization and housekeeping Home safety and emergency awareness 2. Community Integration & Functional Skill Building Transportation training and mobility coaching Social skills and community engagement Personal safety and environmental awareness Support navigating public systems and local resources 3. Self-Advocacy & Personal Development Goal implementation and monitoring Participation in committees, advocacy groups, and resource agencies Encouraging informed decision-making and independent problem solving

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months of verifiable experience assisting or training individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Valid California Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and state-minimum auto insurance
  • Clean driving record
  • Smartphone required
  • Basic computer skills (email, documentation, communication apps)
  • Must pass background check, TB test, and Health Screening
  • Valid First Aid/CPR certification
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • AA/AS or BA/BS in Psychology, Human Services, Social Work, Education, Behavioral Science, or related fields

Responsibilities

  • Provide structured, one-on-one instruction in In-Home Habilitation & Daily Living Skills including meal preparation and nutrition, medication reminders and wellness habits, personal organization and housekeeping, and home safety and emergency awareness.
  • Provide structured, one-on-one instruction in Community Integration & Functional Skill Building including transportation training and mobility coaching, social skills and community engagement, personal safety and environmental awareness, and support navigating public systems and local resources.
  • Provide structured, one-on-one instruction in Self-Advocacy & Personal Development including goal implementation and monitoring, participation in committees, advocacy groups, and resource agencies, and encouraging informed decision-making and independent problem solving.
