About The Position

This position is posted on a continuous basis and does not have a fixed application close date. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. The Driver / Vehicle Data Collection Operator is responsible for safely operating company or project vehicles in support of mileage accumulation, vehicle testing, and data collection activities. This role requires strong attention to safety, reliability, route accuracy, and professional communication with the project team. This position involves extended periods of driving in varying road, traffic, and weather conditions. The role may require daytime, evening, or variable driving schedules depending on project needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 40 hours per week commitment (8-hour shifts, 5 days/week).
  • English proficiency required.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Three years of U.S. driving experience preferred.
  • Minimum age of 25 due to contract requirements.
  • Comfortable driving in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely complete driving shifts of up to 8 hours.
  • Proficient with GPS/navigation apps and able to follow detailed routes.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Prior experience with mileage accumulation, vehicle testing, autonomous vehicle data collection, or similar driving projects strongly preferred.
  • Highly safety-conscious, organized, dependable, and reliable.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress driving situations.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate vehicles during assigned driving shifts, which may last up to 8 hours.
  • Drive in various weather, traffic, and road conditions while maintaining safe driving practices.
  • Follow detailed driving routes using GPS and navigation applications.
  • Maintain professionalism and composure in high-stress driving environments, including rush hour traffic.
  • Keep assigned vehicles fueled, clean, and properly maintained.
  • Monitor vehicle condition and report any issues, concerns, or maintenance needs.
  • Schedule vehicle repairs or service when needed, in coordination with the Project Manager.
  • Accurately log mileage, maintenance activity, vehicle status, and project-related data.
  • Use Microsoft Excel and DEKRA data logging systems to record required information; training will be provided.
  • Report daily updates, issues, and concerns to the Project Manager.
  • Work professionally with team members in a diverse project environment.
