About The Position

Royal Canin (a division of Mars, Incorporated) is seeking an Inbound Logistics Operator to join our state-of-the-art pet nutrition manufacturing facility in Fremont, Nebraska. The Inbound Logistics Operator serves as the primary operational coordinator and first point of contact for all inbound and raw material shipments entering the facility. In this role, you will manage inbound and outbound yard and dock traffic operations, handle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Warehouse Management System (WMS) logistical functions in SAP and JDA/Blue Yonder, execute load tendering, manage trailer pools, and perform critical administrative duties for the raw goods warehouse, ingredient receiving, and dock door scheduling. You will maintain daily cross-functional communication with affiliate carriers, customer care, raw materials receiving, and plant operations to ensure an uninterrupted manufacturing flow and high service execution.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in a shipping/receiving office, warehouse logistics, freight dispatch, or transportation coordination environment.
  • Proven computer proficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), or transportation management software (e.g., SAP, JDA/Blue Yonder, Manhattan, or equivalent).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated capability in interpersonal coordination and problem resolution.
  • Strong organizational, record-keeping, and multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working understanding of shipping/receiving procedures, bill of lading documentation, and inventory flow.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, with flexibility to support overtime or schedule adjustments as operational needs require.

Nice To Haves

  • 3–4 years of logistics coordination, traffic management, or shipping/receiving administrative experience within a manufacturing or distribution setting.
  • In-depth hands-on working knowledge of SAP and JDA/Blue Yonder logistics applications.
  • Prior experience in food manufacturing, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or regulated warehouse environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-direct, prioritize tasks, and execute responsibilities with minimal supervision in dynamic environments.
  • Experience with military asset management and logistics tracking platforms (e.g., GCSS-Army, TC-AIMS II, LOGMOD, CMOS, G-Exec) seamlessly translates to commercial ERP/WMS platforms such as SAP and JDA.
  • Proven experience in manifest verification, movement tracking, load planning, staging area management, and freight documentation.
  • Exceptional adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), workplace safety protocols, and operational readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and optimize master appointment schedules for all inbound raw material deliveries, packaging supplies, and outbound shipments.
  • Execute accurate transactions within SAP and JDA/Blue Yonder, including shipment confirmations, trailer check-in/check-out, inventory receiving, printing orders, trailer dispatch, and closing out shipment documentation.
  • Oversee dock door assignments, trailer pool management, and carrier flow to maximize efficiency and minimize dock congestion and carrier dwell times.
  • Act as the liaison between affiliate freight carriers, dispatchers, customer care, warehouse leads, and receiving teams to provide timely status updates and resolve delivery discrepancies.
  • Monitor the plant receiving window, security gate logs, inbound/outbound scales, and office phone systems, ensuring adherence to site biosecurity, food safety, and safety protocols.
  • Prepare and distribute daily operational shipping/receiving reports, update status trackers, and provide documentation for billing, invoicing, and receipt reconciliation.
  • Maintain operational inventory of shipping supplies, bills of lading (BOLs), seals, and receiving documentation.
  • Provide operational support to Shift Supervisors, Warehouse Leads, and cross-functional manufacturing teams across daily operations.
