About The Position

This position is responsible for the building and maintaining tooling used at domestic and international nuclear facilities by the GE Vernova Hitachi Field Services team. The IVVI Tooling Technician will have a questioning attitude and stopping when uncertain. You will also work with GEV Field Engineering teams to ensure proper operability of tooling being prepared before it is sent to customer sites. Other responsibilities include communicating with the IVVI Division Lead when there are tooling failures, supply issues, and/or safety concerns. Candidates should have previous experience in an automated/robotic environment. Knowledge and experience integrating and setting up complex computerized tooling systems, including network pan tilt zoom camera operations and functionality. Competence in mechanical and electrical problem solving, troubleshooting causes system failures and complete necessary repairs. Operational knowledge of both wireless and wired communications systems.

Requirements

  • The ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic and mechanical equipment is a must.
  • Strictly adhere to regulations and procedures while performing multiple duties and tasks.
  • Excellent computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft applications: Office and ERP/Oracle.
  • Must be self-motivated, logical, and a detail-oriented team-player.
  • Must be willing to travel for training, and or testing as necessary.
  • The candidate must be dependable and be able to report to work fit for duty, and on time.
  • Highly motivated to be successful and help the entire team.
  • Be a self-starter and capable of working in a cohesive team to ensure a successful outcome.
  • Should maintain a questioning attitude and have a willingness to listen when given verbal directions/instructions.
  • Willingness to learn and take the initiative in new situations and environments.
  • Ability to work in environments where lifting, carrying, bending, and climbing is required.
  • Some activities require the ability to lift 50/lbs. above shoulder height for periods of time
  • Ability to work safely in high congested areas
  • Must be willing to complete background check and drug screening

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of GEH In-Vessel Visual Inspection tooling experience is a plus.
  • Previous customer repair/service experience is a plus.
  • Must successfully gain and maintain GEV-Wilmington site access.
  • Previous experience in an automated/robotic environment.

  • Support other areas of operation as needed (CRD, MODS, etc.)
  • Keep facilities, equipment, and work areas clean and orderly.
