About The Position

The A220 commercial aircraft Program is looking for a Propulsion System Specialist to join our In-Service engineering (ISE) team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada), where you will work closely with the A220 integration team and the A220 Customer Response Centre. You will be part of the In-service engineering team for the Propulsion Systems. Your role will be developing technical solutions for Airlines, producing engineering documents to support aircraft return-to-service, proposing mitigations and solutions in collaboration with engineering team and supplier. The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomy, supporting each other and learning collectively.

Requirements

  • Have Mechanical Engineering Degree or an AME license or equivalent diploma
  • Have a minimum of three to five (3 - 5) years of experience in Customer Support or airline operations (Maintenance Control/Engineering and/or Fleet Management/Fleet Technical Support) is a strong asset.
  • Have a basic knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems.
  • Good Knowledge of aircraft propulsion systems (mainly engines).
  • Experience interfacing with Engine Manufacturer is an asset.
  • You have the ability to make solidified and accurate decisions exercising good judgment skills.
  • You are a team player with strong communication (verbal and written)
  • You are organized, able to manage your time and be able to prioritize tasks effectively with short deadlines.
  • Possible on-call duties during week-ends and/or holiday seasons.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to customers’ technical and troubleshooting queries, which involve resolving a wide range of long term in-service issues
  • Work closely with a support team within Customer Response Center (CRC) and Technical Support/Services as well as with Field Service Representatives (FSR)
  • Provide technical solutions for in-service issues.
  • Prepare Repair Engineering Orders (REOs), Service Non-Incorporated Engineering Orders (SNIEOs), In-Service Modsums.
  • Provide technical expertise to operators.
  • Raise Program Change Request (PCR) for fleet reliability improvements
  • Visit operator and vendor facilities to investigate, analyze and prepare technical reports on specific problem areas when required.
  • Prepare technical reviews with customers.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on in-service issues.
  • Participate in operators' conferences.
