About The Position

The In School Suspension Supervisor is responsible for assisting with student behavior, recordkeeping, instructional assistance, organization, and interaction and communication with students placed in In-School Suspension (ISS). This role aims to support student behavior and ensure a positive learning environment within the ISS setting.

Requirements

Associate’s Degree or two years of college (60 credits) preferred.
Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

Communicate with classroom teachers to collect and submit student assignments.
Ensure student work is completed.
Ensure student safety.
Work with student support staff.
Monitor technology usage and enforce school technology use expectations.
Provide direct, specific, consistent, and tenacious communication.
Enforce very high expectations.
Implement a classroom management program that successfully develops positive interactions.
Create a climate of mutual respect and fairness for all students.
Build strong relationships with limited disruptions.
Utilize several differentiated strategies to prevent and intervene with behaviors for all students.
Design each reflection with clear, detailed, and informative information to help reteach students.
Use room arrangement, materials, and displays to create an inviting and supportive climate.
Present as a consummate professional and always observe appropriate boundaries.
Perform other duties as assigned.
