About The Position

The In School Suspension Supervisor is responsible for assisting with student behavior, recordkeeping, instructional assistance, organization, and interaction and communication with students placed in In-School Suspension (ISS). This role aims to support student behavior and ensure a positive learning environment within the ISS setting.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or two years of college (60 credits) preferred.
  • Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with classroom teachers to collect and submit student assignments.
  • Ensure student work is completed.
  • Ensure student safety.
  • Work with student support staff.
  • Monitor technology usage and enforce school technology use expectations.
  • Provide direct, specific, consistent, and tenacious communication.
  • Enforce very high expectations.
  • Implement a classroom management program that successfully develops positive interactions.
  • Create a climate of mutual respect and fairness for all students.
  • Build strong relationships with limited disruptions.
  • Utilize several differentiated strategies to prevent and intervene with behaviors for all students.
  • Design each reflection with clear, detailed, and informative information to help reteach students.
  • Use room arrangement, materials, and displays to create an inviting and supportive climate.
  • Present as a consummate professional and always observe appropriate boundaries.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
