About The Position

Studyville is hiring Part-Time intervention Tutors to join our High Dosage Tutoring (HDT) Program, working with small groups of K–5 students during the school day on essential literacy and/or math skills. Tutors use Studyville's provided curriculum — no lesson planning required — to help students close learning gaps and reach grade level. This role's core functions include: Deliver literacy and/or math instruction to small groups of K–5 students. Use Studyville's provided curriculum with no independent lesson planning. Track student attendance and daily progress. Be a reliable, positive presence in the school community. The assignment is 10 weeks with potential for extension. Tutors are needed for a minimum of 6-10 hours per week during the school day and can work with multiple schools for more hours. The ability to sub for other tutors is also a plus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree OR equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience teaching or tutoring in a professional setting
  • Ability to work with K–5 students in small groups
  • Reliable transportation to assigned schools
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and fingerprinting as required by Louisiana state law
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional in a school setting
  • Strong literacy and/or math instructional skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to different school placements and schedules
  • Clear communication with students, staff, and fellow tutors
  • Ability to stand/move around a classroom or small-group setting for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry tutoring materials as needed
  • Ability to navigate school campuses throughout the workday, including stairs and buildings without elevator access, as needed to move between tutoring locations

Responsibilities

  • Deliver literacy and/or math instruction to small groups of K–5 students

  • Adjust pacing and support to meet each student's needs
  • Use the Tutor Tool Kit and all provided materials
  • Follow the provided scope and sequence
  • Record attendance and daily student progress in StudyTrack
  • Communicate concerns or progress updates to the HDT Program Coordinator
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to support student goals
