About The Position

The In Room Dining Server is responsible for maximizing guest service by setting up room service trays with proper condiments, utensils, and linens. They will deliver food from the kitchen to guest rooms as orders are readied and clear used trays from hallways, taking dishes to the dish room. This role also involves transporting dirty tableware from the Dining Room to the dish drop area and sorting it. The server must conduct themselves professionally, understanding that all actions and communications are within guest view. They will assist servers and hosts when requested, be knowledgeable of general guest information, and maintain regular attendance and punctuality in a complete uniform. Maintaining communication and teamwork with co-workers and supervisors, as well as maintaining an acceptable appearance for their station and surrounding area, are also key responsibilities. Additional tasks may be assigned at the discretion of the manager, and responsibilities may be added or revised based on business volume and needs.

Requirements

  • Ability to walk and stand throughout an eight-hour shift.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize under pressure.
  • Knowledgeable of basic sanitation.
  • Knowledgeable of computer operations and ordering procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Ability to absorb large amounts of information quickly: service procedures, menus, and hotel floor plan, register operation.
  • Ability to maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Previous restaurant serving and/or customer service experience.
