About The Position

As an in-room dining server with Le Meridien St Louis Clayton, you will be responsible for taking, entering, setting up, delivering, and retrieving all food & beverage orders to guest rooms and hospitality suites while ensuring quality service, guest satisfaction, and brand and company standards are met.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to manage difficult or emotional customers or situations; includes ability to respond promptly to guest requests
  • Basic knowledge of food & beverage preparations, service standards, and etiquette.
  • Knowledge of table settings and serviceware
  • Ability to remember, recite and promote a variety of menu items
  • Ability to transport up to 30lbs through a crowded room on a continuous basis
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate set-up & delivery of all food & beverage orders to guest rooms in accordance with established guidelines and procedures on a daily basis. This includes polishing of glassware & silverware, folding/rolling napkins, setting up trays, stocking supplies, etc.
  • Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner while delivering order following Le Meridien guidelines and sophisticated style.
  • Conduct floor sweeps to retrieve all food & beverage trays in order to maintain established sanitation guidelines.
  • Set up and deliver all amenities to rooms in a timely manner.
  • Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to food safety.
  • Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest, to maintain accountability of all food & beverages served.
  • Receives cash from guests, makes any change needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and ensures vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all moneys.
  • Complete all shift side work as outlined.
  • Respond to all guest needs, issues, comments, and problems in a timely manner to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction.
  • Report any less favorable comments to immediate shift supervisor.
  • Locks up and stores all beverage, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
