Requirements

  • Proficient English skills to understand, read, write and speak English.
  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Must be open to working weekends, holidays and rotating shifts (day/swing/graveyard) and working overtime as required.
  • Experience with Word, Excel and PowerPoint at a basic level.
  • Ability to lift 45lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • 4 months experience in a laboratory or production setting.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Performs daily in-process sampling of cheese from plants.
  • Ensures accurate and timely flow of information to Operations, Product Release Teams, and Site and Corporate QA.
  • Supports production quality.
  • Assists with performing aseptic in-process sampling for each batch of production.
  • Assists with effectively tracking sampling from multiple plants simultaneously.
  • Reads, studies, understands and implements published lab procedures and tasks.
  • Works closely with other technicians to ensure timely results.
  • Works closely with operations and takes the initiative to act on any changes or upsets in production.
  • Follows instructions completely and in detail while working with minimal supervision.
  • Completes annual OSHA required safety training.
  • Actively participates and takes ownership in training and development program and associated activities, classes and events.
  • Helps coach and train teammates and participates in on the job, buddy training.
  • Places high priority on food safety and sanitation by understanding and executing HCC’s food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Holds self and others accountable to HCC’s food safety & sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety incident, observation, or opportunity to leadership or teammates.
  • Participates in food safety and sanitation root cause analysis and improvement activities when required.
  • Prioritizes safety above all other job duties by having a safety first approach at all times.
  • Reports any safety issues, observations, opportunities to teams and follows up.
  • Participates in departmental safety teams.
