About The Position

Blue Sky Utility is seeking an In House Paralegal. The In-House Paralegal supports the Company’s sole in-house counsel in a lean legal department by managing day-to-day legal operations and providing substantive support across renewable energy project development, real estate, contracting, financings, and corporate governance. This role is hands-on and requires a high degree of organization, independence, and practical judgment, while operating under attorney supervision.

Requirements

  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent education and experience.
  • 3+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in-house or supporting transactional practices (real estate, energy, infrastructure, or finance).
  • Experience managing contracts and complex document sets.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at different stages simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
  • Proactive and solutions-focused.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, real estate, or project finance.
  • Familiarity with land use, title, and survey documentation.
  • Experience supporting project-level entities and multi-jurisdictional compliance.
  • Familiarity with contract lifecycle management and entity management platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Support entity formation, qualification, dissolution, and maintenance for project-level and holding company entities.
  • Prepare and organize board, member, and shareholder consents and resolutions related to project approvals, financings, and acquisitions.
  • Track and assist with annual filings, good standing certificates, and compliance deadlines across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and managing routine project and corporate agreements, including NDAs, consulting agreements, EPC-related documents, O&M agreements, commercial leases and amendments, under attorney supervision.
  • Assist with legal documentation and closing checklists for tax equity, debt, and M&A transactions.
  • Manage contract intake, execution, and lifecycle tracking.
  • Prepare and process DocuSign/Adobe Acrobat Sign packets, ensuring accuracy, proper routing, and timely execution.
  • Maintain organized contract repositories with accurate version control, filing, and storage of fully executed agreements.
  • Support litigation matters by organizing case files and managing discovery materials.
  • Assist with document collection and production, subpoenas, and responses to legal requests.
  • Track litigation deadlines and maintain matter status reports.
  • Support disputes related to project development, construction, land use, or operations by drafting correspondence and demand letters based on approved templates.
