About The Position

Visiting Angels of Boerne is hiring In Home Patient Care Assistants to serve clients throughout the Hill Country area, including Lake Hills, Pipe Creek, Rio Medina, and Castroville. The role supports clients’ quality of life and wellness in accordance with their custom care plans. Caregivers may provide personal care and hygiene assistance, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, mobility support, medication reminders, and help with errands. Visiting Angels offers advanced training opportunities in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to juggle multiple duties.
• Reliable transportation to travel to and from client homes at scheduled times.
• Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
• Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints.
• Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, such as background checks.
• Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.

Nice To Haves

• Interest in broadening caregiving skills through advanced training in dementia care and/or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

• Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients.
• Handle light housekeeping duties.
• Report health changes or unusual incidents.
• Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
• Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
• Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
• Assist with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
