About The Position
Comfort Keepers is hiring an in-home caregiver for the Brainerd area. Employees can indicate their availability, and part-time and full-time hours are available. Wages begin at $18 per hour, or $20 per hour for Certified Nursing Assistants. After five months of employment, employees are eligible for free CNA classes through Scrubs Academy. The caregiver helps clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes. The role involves personal care, household tasks, meal preparation, companionship, mobility and medication assistance, dementia or Alzheimer’s care, and documenting each shift electronically. Caregivers communicate with the Client Care Coordinator as needed.
Requirements
- Experience in a caregiving role.
- Availability every other weekend and holiday.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Reliable personal transportation, a clean driving record, and three years of driving experience.
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance; must be comfortable driving.
- DHS and driving-record background clearance.
- Customer service excellence and professional boundaries.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living.
- Provide hands-on personal care, including help with dressing, grooming, incontinence, and hygiene.
- Perform light housekeeping, including cleaning bathrooms and living areas, dusting, mopping, changing linens, vacuuming, laundry, and taking out garbage.
- Plan and prepare meals, including cooking and baking.
- Provide conversation and companionship, including Interactive Caregiving.
- Assist clients with mobility, which may involve transfer tools or equipment.
- Assist with medication.
- Provide dementia or Alzheimer’s care.
- Communicate with the Client Care Coordinator as needed.
- Provide proper electronic documentation of shifts and care provided.
