About The Position
Comfort Keepers is hiring part-time CNA/Caregivers in the Annandale/Buffalo area, with part-time and full-time hours available depending on availability. The starting wage is $18 per hour, or $20 per hour for Certified Nursing Assistants. After five months of employment, eligible employees can take CNA classes through Scrubs Academy at no cost. In-home caregivers help clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes. The work may include assistance with daily living and personal care, light housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, companionship, mobility, medication, and dementia or Alzheimer’s care. Caregivers communicate with the Client Care Coordinator as needed and document shifts and care electronically.
Requirements
- Experience in a caregiving role.
- Availability every other weekend and holiday.
- At least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Reliable personal transportation, a clean driving record, and three years of driving experience.
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance, and comfort driving.
- Clearance of DHS and driving-record background checks.
- Customer service excellence and professional boundaries.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living.
- Provide hands-on personal care, including assistance with dressing, grooming, incontinence, and hygiene.
- Perform light housekeeping, including cleaning bathrooms, living areas and kitchens; dusting; mopping; changing linens; vacuuming; doing laundry; and taking out garbage.
- Plan and prepare meals, including cooking and baking.
- Provide conversation and companionship.
- Provide interactive caregiving.
- Assist with mobility, including the use of transfer tools or equipment.
- Assist with medication.
- Provide dementia or Alzheimer’s care.
- Communicate with the Client Care Coordinator as needed.
- Complete proper electronic documentation of shifts and care.
