About The Position
Visiting Angels of Claremont is hiring In Home Caregivers and Homemakers to serve clients throughout the Connecticut River Valley, including Springfield, VT; Claremont, NH; Brattleboro, VT; Keene, NH; and White River Junction, VT. The role supports clients’ quality of life and wellness in accordance with their individual care plans. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Training in First Aid and emergency response; training is provided if needed.
- Excellent time-management skills and ability to manage multiple duties at once.
- Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled times.
- Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
- Comfort with housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints.
- Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, including a background check.
- Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.
Nice To Haves
- Interest in broadening skills through advanced training in dementia care and/or Alzheimer’s care.
Responsibilities
- Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
- Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
- Plan and prepare meals with clients while following applicable dietary constraints.
- Perform light housekeeping duties.
- Report health changes or unusual incidents.
- Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
- Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
- Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
- Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
- Assist with client mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
- Transport clients using a reliable personal vehicle.
