About The Position

This is a full-time, non-exempt position in Great Falls. The In-Home Behavioral Specialist implements instructions from a designated supervisor, assists in team evaluation and treatment planning, and maintains required client paperwork. The role involves providing in-home psychoeducational training and assistance with behavior management strategies for parents and individuals. It also includes one-on-one supervision in home or community settings, potential co-facilitation of family therapy sessions, and transportation services for clients to access community resources or appointments. The specialist will assist clients in developing various life skills, including social, organizational, vocational, and daily living skills, and help them access community resources. Additionally, the role involves leading socialization activities, assisting in therapy groups and skill classes, and maintaining equipment and supplies. The position requires participation in inservice training and other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services field or education preferred, plus at least one year of full-time experience service people with mental illnesses.
  • Individuals with other educational backgrounds who, as providers, consumers, or advocates of mental health services have developed the necessary knowledge and skills (minimum is graduation from high school or GED with four years’ experience with children in the human service field or a combination of relevant experience and education).
  • Travel required.
  • Must have a current MT Driver’s License, personal vehicle and current vehicle insurance.
  • Must pass Background Checks and Motor Vehicle Record Check as well as a background check with DPHHS.
  • Will be required to take Sexual Abuse Training.

Responsibilities

  • Implements instructions of designated supervisor
  • Assists in team evaluation and treatment planning for clients
  • Maintains required paperwork for assigned clients
  • Assists in the development of treatment plans for families and individuals
  • Provides in-home psychoeducational training for parents
  • Provides in-home assistance with development of behavior management strategies
  • Provides one-on-one supervision/guidance of your in home or community settings
  • May co-facilitate family therapy sessions or multiple-family group therapy sessions with the TFC therapist
  • Provides transportation services to enable clients to learn and utilize community resources as needed
  • Provides transportation to clients in personal vehicle if needed
  • Assists clients with development of social, organizational, vocational, and daily living skills
  • Helps clients to access community resources
  • Leads socialization activities for individuals and groups of clients
  • Assists in therapy groups and skill classes as requested
  • Maintains equipment and supplies for assigned activity
  • Participates in inservice training as directed by immediate supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned by management
