About The Position

This role involves delivering SMART customer service and adhering to Lowe’s service standards. The In-Home Sales Specialist will conduct in-home consultations to understand customer needs and recommend suitable home improvement products and services. They will become a subject-matter expert on all product offerings, acting as a trusted advisor for customers. The position requires meeting or exceeding sales goals through strong closing and solution-based selling techniques, and building client relationships via attentive listening and tailored recommendations. Responsibilities also include following up with potential customers, maintaining relationships with stores and partners, managing a sales pipeline, and providing updates to the Services Territory Sales Manager. Clear communication with customers about product features, benefits, lead times, warranties, and installation processes is essential. The role involves capturing accurate measurements, confirming product selections, securing commitments, and preparing for appointments by coordinating samples and materials. Confirming appointments 24 hours in advance and ensuring readiness for visits are also key. Collaboration with general contractors, installers, and project teams for quoting, selling, and producing accurate job files is required. Ensuring all project documents, contracts, proposals, and pricing worksheets are completed according to company standards, and submitting paperwork to store teams for timely project execution are also part of the role. Maintaining organized project folders, clean samples, and necessary collateral for demonstrations, and adhering to all safety protocols are also expected.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
  • 2+ years of outside sales experience, preferably in in-home, direct-to-consumer, or consultative sales.
  • Experience meeting or exceeding sales targets in a quota-driven environment.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly in face-to-face interactions.
  • Ability to accurately measure and assess project needs in customer homes.
  • Proficiency in using mobile devices, CRM systems, and digital tools for scheduling, quoting, and documentation.
  • Physical ability to safely navigate customer homes, carry product samples, and stand for extended periods as needed.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain an active sales pipeline.
  • DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and ability to pass MVR screen in accordance with company requirements.
  • If the state or local municipality requires a salesperson license for this position, you must either be licensed or pass the requisite licensing exam within sixty (60) days of starting employment in this position.

  • Keep a healthy sales pipeline by driving new business opportunities and effectively managing ongoing customer interactions.
  • Provide detailed updates to the Services Territory Sales Manager during regular check-ins.
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding product features, benefits, lead times, warranties, and installation processes.

  • Follow all required safety protocols both during in-home visits and while in the store to ensure the protection of customers, associates, and self.
