About The Position

Lime is seeking In-Field Mechanics to maintain its fleet of shared vehicles. This role is suitable for mechanically inclined operations professionals looking to expand their career experiences. The position involves ensuring the operational compliance and quality of the fleet, performing basic maintenance both in and out of the warehouse, and adhering to safety procedures to ensure rider safety. The role also supports battery management, maintains warehouse safety and hygiene standards, and aims to maximize operational vehicle numbers through efficient task completion. Field repairs on vehicles, including brake adjustments, tire inflation, and cleaning, are a key responsibility, as is managing parts inventories. Mechanics will also monitor designated zones for vehicle parking compliance and tidiness, report on service and product issues, and occasionally assist customers in the field. The role requires operating a van, bike, cargo bike, or e-scooter for vehicle deployment and retrieval, along with other assigned tasks.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver license and good driving record
Ability to lift up to 65lbs / 35 kg on a frequent basis required
Knowledge of cell phone applications. iOS experience preferred
Ability to work various shifts including evenings and weekends
Experience safely operating a pallet jack or push cart
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform quick and efficient repairs
Self-motivated with and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage daily tasks
A safety-oriented mindset, capable of conducting rigorous quality checks
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with team members
Adaptability to work outdoors and indoors in line with company needs and objectives
Ability to safely ride a bike and other Lime vehicles

Previous experience in a similar role involving vehicle maintenance preferred

Responsibilities

Ensure operational compliance of fleet and complete quality checks for deployment
Perform basic maintenance in and out of warehouse
Follow established safety procedures to ensure Lime riders are on the safest vehicles
Support battery management operations by ensuring accurate documentation and quality checks are completed
Maintain and abide by safety and hygiene standards within the warehouse
Maximize the number of operational vehicles by efficiently completing tasks assigned
Safely operate a pallet jack or push cart on a frequent basis
Identify issues and perform small repairs in the field on vehicles including but not limited to brake adjustments, tire inflation, and vehicle cleaning to ensure vehicles are in optimal working condition when needed
Manage parts inventories including PAR levels and demand forecast
Monitor designated zones by conducting on-foot patrols of the local area to ensure vehicle parking compliance and tidiness in accordance with city requests
Detect and report uncommon situations related to on the ground service and product
Occasionally assist customers in field by providing support related to Lime vehicles
Safely operate a van to assist with the deployment and retrieval of Lime electric vehicles within the local market as needed
Safely operate a bike, cargo bike or e-scooters to assist with the deployment and retrieval of Lime electric vehicles within the local market as needed
