About The Position

The Import/Export Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing domestic and international shipments, ensuring compliance with import/export regulations, coordinating transportation, and maintaining accurate shipping documentation. This role works closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, warehouses, and internal departments to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and finished goods.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of import/export or international logistics experience.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms®, international shipping regulations, and customs compliance.
  • Experience working with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
  • Strong understanding of transportation management and logistics processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Acumatica, or similar).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of HTS classification and customs regulations.
  • Experience with Letters of Credit and international payment terms.
  • Familiarity with export compliance (EAR/ITAR preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • APICS, CLTD, or related supply chain certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate international and domestic shipments via air, ocean, rail, and ground transportation.
  • Prepare and review import/export documentation including: Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, Export Declarations, Customs documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs, international trade regulations, and company policies.
  • Work with customs brokers and freight forwarders to facilitate customs clearance.
  • Track shipments and proactively resolve transportation delays or issues.
  • Schedule pickups and deliveries with carriers and warehouses.
  • Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Maintain accurate shipping records and logistics reports.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Production, Customer Service, and Sales to meet delivery schedules.
  • Verify freight invoices and approve transportation charges.
  • Maintain Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications and country-of-origin records.
  • Assist with inventory reconciliation related to inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.
