The Import/Export Coordinator is responsible for managing all documentation for daily exports, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with import/export regulations. This role involves reviewing import documentation, responding to inquiries from various stakeholders, and manually creating international shipments. The position ensures compliance with U.S. government import/export regulations, accurate preparation of required documents, and management of relationships with international third-party logistics partners. The coordinator will also prepare commercial invoices and shippers' letters of instruction for non-inventory items, audit international invoices for accuracy, and coordinate transportation services. Analysis of international shipping patterns, negotiation of rates, and advising on trade programs are also key aspects. The role serves as a primary liaison with customs authorities, handles inquiries and audits, and submits binding ruling requests. Regular review of government and transportation regulations is necessary, along with advising on HazMat shipping concerns. The position champions continuous improvement by implementing corrective actions to strengthen customs processes. Periodically, the role may involve securing and managing carnets, handling Temporary Import Bonds, processing loss or damage claims, providing reports to the insurance broker, completing vendor performance evaluations, and managing special projects related to international transportation. Assistance to Purchasing on projects and familiarity with Purchasing systems are also expected, along with other assigned tasks.
