About The Position

As an Import Export Associate, you will be responsible for coordinating the transportation of goods both domestically and overseas. Your duties will include planning and directing the flow of air and surface traffic to overseas destinations, receiving and shipping freight, assessing charges, and collecting fees for shipments. You will also negotiate with domestic customers on behalf of foreign customers to resolve problems and arrive at mutual agreements, and negotiate reciprocal freight handling agreements with foreign shipping interests. Additionally, you will examine invoices and shipping manifests for compliance with customs regulations, contact customs officials to effect release of incoming freight and resolve customs delays, and prepare reports of transactions to facilitate billing of shippers and foreign carriers.

Requirements

  • At least 2-4 years of import / export experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree from college or technical school preferred.
