This role supports the organization's U.S. Customs team in executing import compliance and customs operations activities. The specialist will assist in monitoring import transactions to ensure compliance with CBP regulations and internal policies, support the review and maintenance of tariff classifications (HTS), customs valuation information, and import documentation. Responsibilities also include assisting with data analysis, compliance monitoring initiatives, investigating and resolving customs clearance delays, shipment holds, and entry discrepancies, and maintaining compliance documentation for audit readiness. The role involves collaboration with various business functions such as Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Finance to gather necessary information for customs compliance. Additionally, the specialist will support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance compliance, operational efficiency, and data quality, monitor regulatory changes, and escalate potential compliance concerns to leadership. A key aspect of the role is supporting the administration of USMCA and other Free Trade Agreement programs, including reviewing and maintaining supplier certifications and documentation, supporting supplier solicitation, and assisting with qualification reviews for preferential duty treatment. Maintaining a working knowledge of USMCA certification requirements, rules of origin, and documentation standards is crucial, as is partnering with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for compliant USMCA benefit utilization.
