About The Position

The Impact Manager serves as the primary day-to-day liaison between City Year Dallas and assigned partner schools, fostering strong relationships with school leaders, teachers, and campus staff to ensure a collaborative and high-impact partnership. As a member of the Impact Department, the Impact Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily implementation of City Year's Whole School, Whole Child (WSWC) service model across a portfolio of two partner schools, ensuring services are delivered with fidelity and aligned to both school and organizational priorities. This role directly coaches, develops, and manages a team of approximately 10–15 AmeriCorps Volunteers, including Returning AmeriCorps Volunteers in leadership positions and first-year members. Through consistent coaching, relationship-building, and operational oversight, the Impact Manager equips AmeriCorps Volunteers with the support, feedback, and accountability needed to deliver high-quality service while fostering leadership development, team cohesion, and an exceptional corps member experience. Reporting to the Impact Director, the Impact Manager plays a vital role in advancing City Year's mission by strengthening school partnerships, developing future leaders, monitoring day-to-day program implementation, and ensuring students receive high-quality, consistent support. Working in close collaboration with school partners and City Year colleagues, the Impact Manager serves as the connector between the school community and the City Year team, ensuring strong communication, alignment, and shared ownership of student success.

Requirements

Serve as the primary day-to-day City Year representative on assigned partner campuses, cultivating trusted relationships with principals, assistant principals, teachers, counselors, and other school staff to ensure strong, collaborative partnerships.
Facilitate regular partnership meetings and ongoing check-ins with school leaders to maintain alignment on service priorities, monitor progress toward shared goals, proactively address challenges, and identify opportunities to strengthen the partnership.
Ensure the successful day-to-day implementation of City Year's Whole School, Whole Child (WSWC) service model by aligning AmeriCorps Volunteer service with school priorities, monitoring fidelity to service agreements, and responding proactively to evolving campus needs.
Serve as the primary communication bridge between City Year and assigned school communities, ensuring timely, transparent communication and strong alignment between school leadership, AmeriCorps Volunteers, Impact leadership, and City Year Dallas.
Maintain a consistent and engaged presence across assigned campuses by building meaningful relationships with school staff, participating in the daily life of the school, and creating opportunities to strengthen City Year's visibility and partnership within the school community.
Gather feedback from school leaders, teachers, and campus partners to evaluate partnership health, improve service delivery, and ensure City Year's work continues to meet the evolving needs of students and schools.
Directly supervise, coach, and develop a team of approximately 10–15 AmeriCorps Volunteers, including Returning AmeriCorps Volunteers in leadership roles and first-year members, fostering an environment of accountability, belonging, and continuous growth.
Conduct regular one-on-one coaching meetings, observations, and development conversations that strengthen service delivery, leadership skills, and individual performance while supporting members in achieving personal and professional goals.
Monitor individual and team performance, provide timely feedback, recognize successes, address performance concerns, and implement coaching and accountability plans as needed.
Manage team schedules, service hours, attendance, workload distribution, and daily operations to ensure compliance with AmeriCorps requirements and successful implementation of the service model.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and psychologically safe team culture by building trust, promoting collaboration, supporting member well-being, and addressing team dynamics proactively.
Support AmeriCorps Volunteers throughout their service year by encouraging persistence, cultivating leadership skills, and identifying opportunities for Returning AmeriCorps Volunteer leadership pathways and continued engagement with City Year.
Ensure high-quality implementation of City Year’s Whole School, Whole Child (WSWC) service model by monitoring whole-class support, small-group interventions, attendance initiatives, positive behavior supports, and culture and climate programming.
Monitor student progress, service outcomes, and implementation data to ensure AmeriCorps Volunteers are meeting program expectations and contributing to measurable student growth.
Manage service schedules, intervention delivery, documentation, data collection, and reporting to ensure program fidelity, compliance with AmeriCorps requirements, and alignment with site expectations.
Use service data, school partner feedback, and team performance trends to identify barriers, adjust support strategies, and strengthen day-to-day implementation.
Conduct regular observations of AmeriCorps Volunteers to assess service delivery, instructional support, student engagement, and fidelity to City Year’s WSWC service model.
Provide timely, actionable coaching and feedback that supports skill development, strengthens service quality, and helps AmeriCorps Volunteers apply learning from training in real time.
