Still She Rises, Inc. (SSR) provides free legal representation to pregnant women, women with children, and women who are child caregivers. Our direct-services legal representation focuses on defending clients who are navigating criminal, child welfare, housing, and economic justice systems. Our work is grounded in client-centered, innovative, and holistic legal representation. Founded in North Tulsa, Still She Rises honors the dignity of the women we serve by championing our clients’ individual goals while also challenging the systemic issues that impact their lives, families, and communities. The Impact Litigation Practice advances this mission by using litigation, legal strategy, policy analysis, and collaborative advocacy to address widespread harms caused by the systems our clients face. The practice works to create broader change beyond individual cases, while remaining closely connected to the lived experiences and legal needs of SSR’s clients. Still She Rises seeks a highly motivated attorney with a demonstrated commitment to indigent defense, civil rights, racial justice, and systemic advocacy to join the Impact Litigation Practice. The Attorney in the Impact Litigation Practice will work closely with the Director of Impact Litigation to identify, develop, and pursue litigation and legal strategies aimed at achieving systemic change. This role is responsible for supporting affirmative and defensive litigation that has the potential to create broad impact for SSR’s client population and the communities we serve. This position requires strong legal research and writing skills, strategic thinking, creativity, sound judgment, and a commitment to collaborative advocacy. The Impact Litigation Attorney will help develop legal theories, draft pleadings and briefs, participate in litigation strategy, support amicus and legislative analysis efforts, and collaborate with attorneys, advocates, and investigators across SSR’s practice areas. The role is both externally and internally facing. Externally, the attorney may work with local and national partners, co-counsel, community organizations, and law firms. Internally, the attorney will serve as a strategic resource to SSR’s direct-services teams by helping identify recurring legal issues, develop arguments and resources, and support training on complex or systemic legal questions.
