About The Position
This position is for an Immunohematology Laboratory Supervisor in Gainesville, FL. The role involves leading a high-performing lab team in a full-service, accredited Immunohematology Reference Laboratory. The supervisor will oversee laboratory operations, ensure quality and compliance, manage personnel functions, and resolve complex immunohematology and compatibility issues to ensure patient safety.
Requirements
- National certification as MT/CLS/MLS with ASCP, AAB or AMT, including immunohematology
- Supervisor license issued by the state of Florida; or eligible to apply for one
- Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory, Chemical, or Biological Science
- Familiarity with blood banking
Nice To Haves
- SBB(ASCP) or BB(ASCP) certification
Responsibilities
- Oversee laboratory operations and team performance; ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards
- Supervise personnel functions, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Resolve complex immunohematology and compatibility issues to ensure the safest blood for patients
