About The Position

Harris Beach Murtha is seeking an Immigration Paralegal to join their team. This role involves assisting in the preparation of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa applications for corporate and individual clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business immigration and excellent communication and organizational skills. This is a hybrid opportunity available in Albany, NY; New York City, NY; and Boston, MA offices.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Business Immigration paralegal experience required
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a field emphasizing writing or communication
  • Superior writing/editing skills for complex support letters and strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with MS Office and expertise with computer assisted legal resources
  • The ability to manage multiple high-volume priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional, cooperative, positive and flexible attitude
  • Exhibit the ability to effectively multi-task, meet deadlines, and provide solutions in a fast-paced office setting
  • Demonstrate good organizational skills for prioritizing workload
  • Believe in the firm’s core values: integrity, respect, accountability, ingenuity, teamwork, and inclusion and engagement
  • Enjoy working with diverse personalities within various levels of the firm
  • Are comfortable working in the office every day, with the potential to work a hybrid schedule after training

Responsibilities

  • Preparing a wide variety of business-based nonimmigrant (H-1B, L-1, TN, E, and O-1) and immigrant (employment and family-based) petitions, including forms preparation, and supporting documentation.
  • Managing high-volume corporate client accounts and working closely with clients to provide comprehensive immigration services.
  • Compiling and maintaining records of immigration filings, other documentation, and records of activity on behalf of clients.
  • Reviewing immigration regulations and applying them to various case scenarios.
  • Writing detailed and complex supporting argumentation.
  • Entering case information into case management system.
  • Completing a minimum 1400 billable hours annually.
