About The Position

Harris Beach Murtha is seeking an Immigration Paralegal to assist in the preparation of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa applications for corporate and individual clients. This role offers a hybrid opportunity in Albany, NY; New York City, NY; and Boston, MA offices. The ideal candidate will have a strong drive to work with purpose and change lives through comprehensive immigration services.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Business Immigration paralegal experience required.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a field emphasizing writing or communication.
  • Superior writing/editing skills for complex support letters and strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with MS Office and expertise with computer assisted legal resources.
  • The ability to manage multiple high-volume priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional, cooperative, positive and flexible attitude.
  • Exhibit the ability to effectively multi-task, meet deadlines, and provide solutions in a fast-paced office setting.
  • Demonstrate good organizational skills for prioritizing workload.

  • Enjoy working with diverse personalities within various levels of the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing a wide variety of business-based nonimmigrant (H-1B, L-1, TN, E, and O-1) and immigrant (employment and family-based) petitions, including forms preparation, and supporting documentation.
  • Managing high-volume corporate client accounts and working closely with clients to provide comprehensive immigration services.
  • Compiling and maintaining records of immigration filings, other documentation, and records of activity on behalf of clients.
  • Reviewing immigration regulations and applying them to various case scenarios.
  • Performing research using all available immigration research tools including government agencies' websites.
  • Writing detailed and complex supporting argumentation.
  • Entering case information into case management system.
  • Completing a minimum of 1400 billable hours annually.
