Immersive Content and Visual Effects Artist, Halo Board
About The Position
The LA Clippers are looking to hire an Immersive Content and Visual Effects Artist, Halo Board. This role is a hands-on creative leader responsible for the ideation, creation, and continuous evolution of pre-produced content for the Intuit Dome Halo Board. This role blends high-level creative execution with advanced real-time, VFX, and GenAI workflows to deliver bespoke content designed specifically for the Halo Board's immersive, circular canvas. This role is creative-first and the primary maker and owner of Halo content, personally creating core assets while scaling output through freelance artists and close collaboration with an in-house 3D designer in the Creative department. In addition to content creation, this role builds and maintains efficient systems that allow Halo content to evolve quickly throughout the basketball season. Due to the nature of this industry, candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule including weeknights, weekends, and holidays to cover high profile concerts and NBA games.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in immersive content creation, VFX, motion graphics, or real-time media
- Demonstrated portfolio of hands-on creation for large-format or non-traditional canvases such as LED volumes, domes, or immersive displays.
- Strong hands-on experience with Unreal Engine for real-time or near-real-time content creation.
- Advanced working knowledge of Cinema 4D or Houdini.
- Experience creating content for live events such as professional sports, concerts, or large-scale entertainment.
- Ability to both concept and execute high-level visuals, owning work from idea through delivery.
- Experience collaborating across creative, broadcast, and technical teams in live environments.
- Ability to learn, contribute and thrive in a fast-growing, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
- Personally ideate, design, and create pre-produced Halo Board content including intro experiences, rituals, transitions, and moment-based visual packages.
- Serve as the creative owner for Halo pre-produced assets, maintaining quality, consistency, and freshness throughout the season.
- Concept and execute content that fully leverages the Halo Board’s immersive, non-rectangular canvas in ways not possible on traditional scoreboards.
- Continuously update and evolve Halo content based on season narratives, team performance, and live audience response.
- Collaborate closely with the Head of Digital Content and Video Director to align Halo content with broader creative vision and storytelling priorities.
- Work in close partnership with the Halo Content Producer to ensure content supports game flow, pacing, and emotional arcs.
- Direct and integrate work from freelance artists and collaborate with an in-house Creative department 3D designer as force multipliers.
- Build and maintain efficient, scalable workflows across Unreal Engine, Cinema 4D and Houdini, After Effects, and AI-assisted tools.
- Apply GenAI and procedural tools to accelerate ideation, iteration, and seasonal refreshes while maintaining creative control and quality.
- Ensure all assets are optimized for Disguise playback and compatible with Daktronics and Halo Board technical requirements.
- Design modular content systems and templates that allow rapid iteration and deployment throughout the season.
- Partner with game presentation and broadcast teams to stress-test content prior to live deployment.
- Identify and recommend seasonal freelance support and additional resources as needed.
- Document creative systems, workflows, and technical standards to support long-term internal ownership.
