About The Position

Winpak Portion Packaging is seeking an IML Production Manager to join our manufacturing team based in Sauk Village, Illinois. This is a high-impact leadership role for a manufacturing professional who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and is passionate about building strong teams, driving performance, and improving operations. In this role, you will lead our in-mold labeling and injection molding operations, oversee production, automation, tooling, quality, and safety, and play a key part in supporting current production needs and future growth. Requirements

  • 7+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Injection molding experience in a production setting
  • Experience leading teams, directing work, and driving accountability in a fast-paced operation
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment setup, processing, and maintenance
  • Experience working with automation in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems independently, and make sound operational decisions
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems such as MRP or ERP platforms
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 5%

Nice To Haves

  • In-mold labeling experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Previous manufacturing management experience in plastic molding, packaging, or a related production environment
  • Experience supporting quality systems, food safety requirements, or regulated manufacturing environments

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations for the IML injection molding department, including molding machines, automation, tooling, and product and case handling systems
  • Oversee equipment and tooling setup, changeovers, processing, and maintenance to support production efficiency and output goals
  • Manage department performance across safety, quality, productivity, and key operational metrics
  • Partner with Supply Chain to manage raw material inventory, including resin, colorant, labels, and packaging materials
  • Support quality and food packaging safety compliance by ensuring department adherence to company policies, sanitation standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Develop, coach, and lead department employees, including performance management, training, documentation, and employee relations support
  • Manage departmental spending and budgets, including capital requests and growth-related equipment or process needs
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering and other internal teams during commercialization, process changes, and improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize management philosophies of SQF and ISO in all aspects of job-related activity.
  • In the incumbent’s absence these responsibilities will be transferred to the Plant Manager.
