About The Position

University of Washington Medical Center – Montlake – Radiology - CENTER FOR PAIN RELIEF has an outstanding opportunity for a RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST. As an X-Ray Technologist at the Center of Pain Relief, you will be responsible for operating fluoroscopic equipment to assist physicians with a variety of pain management procedures, including ultrasound-guided trigger point injections (TPI), medial branch blocks (MBB), transforaminal epidural steroid injections (TFESI), SI joint injections, radiofrequency nerve ablations, and genicular nerve blocks. You will also be responsible for stocking supplies, maintaining sterile fields, and providing general support to the clinical team. The Center of Pain Relief is a leading pain clinic dedicated to providing comprehensive pain management solutions to our patients. We use a multidisciplinary approach to pain management, focusing on non-invasive and minimally invasive techniques to improve the quality of life for our patients. We are currently seeking a skilled X-Ray Technologist to join our team and support our clinical staff in delivering high-quality care.

Requirements

  • Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA approved school and eligible for registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with Registry completed before completion of probationary period OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Registered as an X-Ray Technician by the State of Washington
  • Certified by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist, before completion of probationary period

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with fluoroscopic equipment and pain management procedures.
  • Knowledge of sterile techniques and infection control practices.

Responsibilities

  • Operate fluoroscopic equipment to capture high-quality images for diagnostic and procedural purposes.
  • Assist physicians during procedures, providing guidance with imaging and ensuring patient safety.
  • Maintain a sterile environment during procedures, including creating sterile fields and handling sterile supplies.
  • Prepare and organize necessary medical supplies and equipment for each procedure.
  • Ensure that the fluoroscopic equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Stock and maintain an inventory of medical supplies, equipment, and linen.
  • Provide support to the clinical team, including patient positioning, transportation, and monitoring during procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and radiation safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of procedures, imaging results, and inventory.
  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health errors.
  • Performs all quality control checks as prescribed and contacts the appropriate staff in the event of a system or equipment malfunction.
  • Follows all departmental policies regarding radiation safety and shielding patients.
  • Screens all patients for contrast contraindications prior to exam. Appropriately questions patient regarding history, allergies, and pregnancy.
  • Follows department protocols for all imaging studies.
  • Know basic CPR to assist in patient care.
  • Initiates and participates in all Final Verification/Time Out with all staff members present for any invasive procedures.
