The Imaging Supervisor coordinates and organizes patient flow throughout the department, prioritizing procedures and shifting workloads as needed. This role supervises sophisticated procedures, ensuring patient throughput and departmental efficiencies. The supervisor is responsible for obtaining medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist, or registered nurse. They also teach new procedures, keep technical staff informed of changes, and perform evaluations on technical and support staff. Additionally, the Imaging Supervisor provides documentation and reports on equipment/supply needs, physician requests and complaints, and routine operational issues, ensuring physician or patient complaints are handled in a timely manner. A high level of technical proficiency and knowledge in system management, advanced applications, and current applications of modalities is maintained. The supervisor troubleshoots equipment or procedure problems with appropriate follow-up and regulates equipment quality control tests, making needed adjustments for service.
